Job Location: WinterPark Engineering, a BPG Company | Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA
Utilize electrical engineering knowledge to analyze and document hardware, control system and diagnostic systems. Examine the diagnostics of components, including hybrid propulsion control modules, motor and generator control modules, battery energy control modules, power inverters, hybrid cooling systems, regenerative braking and onboard charging. Determine if components meet regulations, engineering design and performance specifications. Recommend design modifications and assess root cause analysis. Prepare project documentation, including functional design specifications, system design specifications and test manuals. Research, design and evaluate regulatory on-board diagnostic ("OBD") certification documents for Hybrid Electric Vehicle applications to submit to the California Air Resource Board and Environmental Protection Agency for approval. Detect component failure conditions, including OBD requirement analysis, verification and validation.
Minimum of a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related required. Position is based out of Burke Porter Group company WinterPark Engineering LLC's headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI and requires travel to client locations throughout Southeast Michigan during the work week.
