Rear Axle Alignment System

The rear axle assembly Non-Contact Alignment Machine is designed to perform production line measuring, automatic toe and camber setting, and verification of axle alignment parameters using a LASER-based, computerized measurement system. It accurately and repeatedly measures and automatically sets the rear axle wheel alignment. The values, both preset and final numbers, are stored locally (hard drive of PC) and are available to the plant for record keeping purposes via Ethernet. In addition the machine receives axle ID and FIS information from the plant for processing the axle. Upon process completion the machine sends the axle ID and results back to the FIS for post processing.

Base Software and Measurement Capability

(parameter selectable):
  • Rear Toe
  • Rear Total Toe
  • Rotor Run Out
  • Thrust Angle
  • Rear Camber
  • Rear Cross Camber
  •    Calibration and Sensors:

    • Quick and easy calibration.  Locator pins on the master gauge allow for easy placement on the machine - precise positioning is not necessary. Further, the software is designed to prompt the operator through the step by step calibration process. With this process any individual LASER sensor characteristics, and replacement inaccuracies are computed and compensated for thus, replacement parts are interchangeable.

    • Calibration results are saved to the history database.

    • Sensors have no moving parts and do not touch the axle assembly

    • Sensor replacement is simple and placement is not critical because re-calibrating will determine exactly where the LASER is located.
