NCA CONTROL SYSTEM

The Burke Porter Model 7000 Non-Contact Alignment Machine is designed to accurately and repeatably measure the toe, camber, and caster (option) of the vehicle and allow operator adjustments to bring the vehicle within customer-specified values. The Model 7000 is capable of testing both cars and trucks. Test and machine control is based on a PC-PLC data process and control system. The interpretation of alignment measurements is provided via two standard PC computers: a real-time PC for the analysis and calculation of alignment measurements, and a Windows-style, GUI PC, which users will find extremely functional yet easy to use.

An additional real-time processor is used to graphically display the alignment data on the Vehicle Test Display and provide the prompts on the Pit Operator Display to direct the pit operator in the adjustment of the toe on the front and/or rear axles.

Vehicle Test Display

OPERATOR INTERFACE

The NCA Operator interface includes the Vehicle Test Display, Pit Operator Display and a menu-based Graphical User Interface. The Vehicle Test Display provides real-time updates of toe and camber test measurements, machine and test status, test results, and diagnostics. Thrust angle, steering wheel angle, and caster measurements are also computed. The Pit Operator Display shows the test results for the front or rear wheels. All prompts needed to complete a vehicle test are also shown.

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides the test engineer with complete control of NCA test operation using various menu-driven screens. Through the GUI, users can perform various functions such as modifying vehicle and machine parameters, changing passwords, downloading system control and display programs, displaying test results, viewing analog device and power supply voltages, checking PLC I/O status, checking fault indicator status, accessing troubleshooting files, and much more.
