Burke E. Porter Machinery Company is a leading worldwide supplier of electric chassis and drivetrain dynamometers for a variety of vehicle testing applications. Since our first dynamometer installation in 1955, we have designed and installed hundreds of test systems all over the world. We specialize in dynamometer test systems for passenger car, passenger truck, motorcycle and heavy truck platforms.

Model 6589 Drivetrain Dyno

The Model 6598 is a complete Drivetrain Dynamometer system for medium and heavy-duty trucks. The machine features one Input Electric AC Dynamometer and two Output Electric AC Dynamometers. A GIF GSE2 gear-shifting and speed and force measuring unit and a GIF KBE clutch operating device are included for transmission gear shifting and clutch engagement and disengagement. The system can be arranged as follows:

(1) an inline configuration to perform transmission tests,
(2) a T-shape configuration for axle tests, and
(3) a combination-test configuration, which includes vehicle transmission, prop-shaft and final       drive axle.

The roadload simulation test is another feature in addition to the traditional performance and durability tests.
