Software Engineer
Burke E. Porter Machinery Company is seeking a Software Engineer. A worldwide leader in the development of advanced electrical, mechanical, and software solutions for automotive test systems market, Burke Porter Machinery offers over 50 years experience in this field. We are known for innovative systems engineering and have gained international recognition for providing "state of the art" automotive test equipment in end-of-line Roll and Brake Test Equipment and Laboratory Dynamometers. Position is responsible for designing and implementing software. It requires active participation in the development and field support of these machines, worldwide. Experience in designing real-time/multitasking software in C/C++ and exposure to equipment integration, buy-offs and installations in the field is required. We are seeking a self-starter who thrives in a fast paced and changing work environment and is willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 50% of the time.

This position requires the ability to troubleshoot multiprocessor software and hardware systems, communicate with customers and management to define requirements and resolve functionality or schedule conflicts. The successful candidate will have an understanding of electronic and computer hardware systems, and the ability to use this knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and advise others. We are seeking candidates with 5+ years of experience with a BSCE. Familiarity with Unix, Windows and object oriented programming is a plus.
