Burke E. Porter Machinery Company builds two advanced
NVH dynamometers for delivery to China
Burke E. Porter Machinery Companyhas been awarded an order to provide two advanced
Noise Vibration Harshness chassis dynamometers to China to be used for new-car-platform
R & D and performance verification. The dynamometers will be located at the largest
and most technologically advanced NVH facility in China.
The BEPCO NVH Chassis Dynamometer (Dyno) is a heavy duty machine designed for
use in noise, vibration, environmental, and emission testing, including Bi-directional
Pass-by tests (per ISO standards) on 2WD, 4WD, and AWD vehicles. The dyno
features an automatic wheelbase and movable floor system, fully integrated automatic
throttle controller, and data acquisition system.
Beside being feature-rich, the BEPCO NVH dyno is highly capable. The design
is built around our patented “One to One 4-wheel drive technology”.; Each
75-inch roll is coupled to a 145 kW DC motor, allowing independent control of each
roller, which is a major advantage over typical systems.
This means that the road load simulation—and a wide range of road profiles—
can be performed on each wheel independently. The combination of electric
motors/absorbers with BEP’s solid state Dyno-III Digital Controller and
newly-released NVH control software results in a system with extraordinary
response times, ultra-accurate control, and excellent repeatability for a variety of
vehicles.
